SCHOLARSHIPS AWARDED TO LOCAL STUDENTS AT THE SPRING RECEPTION
L. A. Cash for College Scholarship Opportunities
Live Your Dreams
L.A. Cash for College offers several different opportunities for local area students to be awarded college scholarships:
Each year, at the Cash for College Convention, ten $1,000 scholarships are offered to students in grades 6 through 12. Named in honor of the former President & CEO of the Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce, the Russell J. Hammer Scholarship Fund strives to increase access to college by encouraging low-income, disadvantaged and high-risk students to complete high school and continue into post-secondary education. more
Cash for College Scholarships:
Cash for College Scholarships are offered to high school seniors who attend the CFC Convention and Super Saturday FAFSA Workshop events. Students receive their scholarship at the Cash for College Scholarship Awards Reception in late spring where families are invited to come celebrate achievement and upcoming college admissions.
Cash for College Ambassador Program:
Scholarships are awarded to college students who apply through written and video application to be Ambassadors of the Cash for College Access program. Awardees attend program and media events and encourage younger students to make early commitments to college.
College students who have previously participated in the Cash for College Program, are invited to become CFC Ambassadors. Ambassadors may attend the Convention, Workshop and Scholarship events and share their experiences with younger students and families. They may also participate in media and promotion activities along with school events encouraging college application and enrollment.
